History: The Night Angel and the Fearsome Shade started out as silent assassins of the bad people of Freedom City, Texas. Guided by a crumpled hit list, they cut down mobsters and villains in their sleep. After a crisis of conscience sends him on a quest to save a life instead of taking yet another, the Night Angel resolved to stop the killing altogether. But there’s still a list, and there’s still his enthusiastic partner to deal with.

Powers and Abilities: The sword, a mysterious spined hilt with no apparent blade, lights into a blazing shaft when Night Angel grabs a defined beam of light (a flashlight in darkness, say) and lights it. The blade cuts easily through flesh, bone, stone and metal. There is no resistance when it is swung; either it cuts or it doesn’t.
